    Furlough

Let’s be honest - it’s one big jolly isn’t it!

3 months off on 80% pay.

Whilst the rest of us are working are asses off.

One big jolly by the sea side.

Losing 20% of income should be enough to feck up most peoples finances as savings rate in this country was in low single digits, other than that it's great

No travel costs, and you can cook all your meals. No lattes or any other money wasters.

      Gravy.

True, though a lot of people on furlough would be from hospitality sector, so no tips to supplment pathetily low wages of which they only get 80%

Except they are not being forced to eat £3 meal deals (budget) or £8 Pret (contractor) lunches, £3 coffees etc... Nor are they paying to go to / from work and no school costs (lunches, travel, trips, uniform etc) The 20% might not be such a big loss for many.

          M

n.b. yes, I get that they *could* bring their own lunch and drink the pond water that is most office coffee... but most can't be "bothered"

So over 3 months redundancy on 80% pay for no work done.
