Not really a problem as I'm WFH and eldest is swatting for the 11 plus.

Everyone is using masks in Spain, very sensibly and the hotel was cleaned manically all day.

Got here and hardly anyone outside the airport is using masks - the lift buttons made my skin crawl they were so filthy.

A load of nonsense; Spain is controlling COVID-19 very well.

Looking for the big spike in cases today like the last two Mondays.

It will be by the end of August when all those who return from Spain flaunt quarantine in order to save a tenner on food.

It will be April all over - only with worse weather in bleak October

In all honesty, I'm not bothered at all. Amazed to see work colleagues who are aghast that Im going abroad. Mind you a few of the permes have refused to go into supermarkets since it all began and refused to go into the office at all. Worlds gone crazy.

The mask thing is not going to be cool though. In the airport, and plane and partly in the hotel.....

The Spanish are testing far more widely than the British. Hence detecting more cases, outbreaks there are also more localised.

This winter is going to be the realisation.

So why detected infections are growing very rapidly there... could be tourists... surprised they don't get a test straight away.

“ Downing Street has rejected the idea of offering people forced to quarantine on their return from Spain the chance of sick pay, saying those whose employers will not pay them in their absence should claim universal credit or seek arbitration.”

Surely you could bypass quarantine by saying you only went to Spain to check your eyesight?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I don't see how that will work.

Better put Britain on that list:

A Turkish couple living in Berlin has triggered an urgent track and trace process in the city after returning from a holiday to visit friends in Manchester and testing positive for coronavirus.

Out of 50 of people with whom they have had contact since their return, 13 have so far tested positive and the other 37 are in quarantine.

The couple, a taxi driver (50) and his wife (45), arrived back home on a Ryanair flight on 16 July. They were not diagnosed until six days after their return. The whole family is now infected, including the couple’s four children (aged 9 to 21) and their 55-year-old grandmother.

Gudrun Widders, an official at the local health office in the district Berlin-Spandau, has told the newspaper Bild none of the family members has had to be hospitalised.

She said that the health office had made repeated attempts to contact Ryanair so that they can contact other passengers who were on the plane “but has so far had no feedback” from the airline.

It is not known if Ryanair has reacted to the information and informed other passengers who were on the same flight as the couple.
