On one hand, you've a mildly contagious killer, that we have treatments for - but has similar pathology (pnuemonia)
Then you've got Covid, highly contagious, that will be initially harder to distinguish with flu victims with pneumonia.
Then you've the whole political problem of deniers / people with economic interest , playing down Covid as "just flu like" - but trying to also send a message that its not flu, but may be mistaken for flu, so please, can EVERYONE have a flu vaccine, because its cheap and we know it works fairly well.
We are going to end up having to put flu victims in with Covid victims, with a staff base that hasn't taken holidays all year , and are now dropping with stress and worry. Some clinicians have 3 month backlogs and new "business as usual" patients coming in who are more unhealthy than they usually would be, because they've either been unable, or unwilling to come in early enough.
Wow, that's really doomy. Lets hope the world is mistaken and this is going to mutate in a way that becomes less dangerous, or we find a decent treatment plan.
