Actually this is not about academics suppressing their opinions, it's about academics failing their students by being too scared to challenge their students' (largely under-informed) views on various subjects. Views that will remain under-informed since nobody is presenting the opposite side. I wonder how many of them know that Amazing Grace was written by a slave trader, for example...

As for Brexit - it's happened, get over it. You may as well argue about the rule of Charles I and his view of an absolute monarchy.
      Blog? What blog...?

Maybe the Labour voters can close the Anti Semitism party?

Possibly after Tory voters put as much effort into being as appalled by others as they should be by the efforts of their own party to remove the whip from an MP that voted against them, but to do nothing with an MP accused of rape.

Accused? That pesky innocent until proven guilty thing, the scourge of pitchfork parties everywhere.

Chief whip Mark Spencer faces questions over Tory MP sex assault claim | Daily Mail Online

Chief whip Mark Spencer was aware a senior Tory MP was in a sexual relationship with a woman, but not that there was an allegation of sexual assault, it was claimed today.Sources insisted Mr Spencer had not been told of any accusation of serious sexual abuse by the former minister when he spoke to the woman in April.
Mr Spencer is facing questions over his handling of the case, with the Tories refusing to suspend the MP, who has now been arrested on suspicion of rape.
If he is proven guilty of rape then by all means remove the whip. If she was a member of his staff (position of power) or any signs of coercion then remove it anyway.

Perfect example of why men accused of rape should have anonymity until they properly get to court.

Really, how about Elphicke who was suspended:

In November 2017, Elphicke was suspended from the Conservative Party after "serious allegations" made against him were referred to the police. Elphicke stated: "I am not aware of what the alleged claims are and deny any wrongdoing.

                  But Elphicke was needed:

On 12 December 2018, Elphicke had the Conservative whip reinstated prior to a confidence vote in Theresa May

And now he has been found guitly:

On 30 July 2020, Elphicke was found guilty on three counts of sexual assault. He will be sentenced on 15 September, and faces a possible prison sentence.
Tories, two faced all the time
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

BB "getting over" Brexit is akin to a child getting over ice cream.
