That would be great. Unfortunately I share a private road with a farm shop and the entrance to my drive way is right next door to their honesty box and shed where people pick up their weekly veggy boxes so that's a no go.

1) Dump all your extra produce on their table.
2) Help yourself to some pennies from their honesty box.

Also tulip in the UK that most food banks don't take fresh produce.

At my place in Spain people just wander in and take what they like, and reciprocate by dropping stuff off*. It's a nice community vibe.

In the end I took it up to an old Scottish couple in Orgiva. It hated me, probably becauseof the carrots.

Lettuce soup is meant to be good. Always sounded a bit wrong to me but I reckon if you substituted it for spinach in a spinach pea mint and lemon soup, it would come out fine.
