Covid is doing a great job at shiny a light on the dirty little secrets of liberal European countries (and in other parts of the world I expect)

Would be a great angle if I was a Tory. All politicians should have to do what sportspeople do and wear their sponsors' logos on their suit so we know who they're really working for because it certainly isn't their constituents on either side of the house.

No we have more tests but they aren't necessarily testing different people and each swab is a separate test.

I’d give them that more targeted testing thanks to test and trace helping detect clusters better, BUT they are not even saying that and they are so untrustworthy and incompetent that one really should assume the worst.

And why not - if virus rebounds everywhere else after re-opening, then why not here?

8th August, the effective R in the UK was 1.15. In Western Europe, Austria was the highest 1.35 and Belgium lowest 0.95.

1.15 is a lot (and it was hot summer!), I think flu got 1.1?

R Rate was 1.8 a week ago in Ireland. Feels like it's going off the rails here.
