National Lottery travel exemption

Turns out that, if you're working on a bid for the next National Lottery contract, you don't have to self-isolate when you enter the UK. New exemption, effective from today.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): jobs that qualify for travel exemptions - GOV.UK

Quite an interesting and ever-growing list of exemptions going on there.

This begs the question, why would someone be travelling from outside the UK to put in a tender for the UK lottery?

I can't see any reference that states only UK companies can apply for the tender?

Camelot, the current holders of the Lotto franchise in the UK are Canadian. This means the profits have been going to boost Canadians pensions for a very long time.

Very little is still owned by British companies or British shareholders. Mostly our infrastructure is owned by large sovereign wealth funds, private venture capital companies and foreign holdings companies.

Blame the UK governments of the last 50 years.
