The bit above. Their telephony system must be tulip if they can't accept an EU number, makes you wonder how they do business then
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

      Indeed it does.

Secretary at BAE a week or two ago 'oh that's an international number, I don't know to do that' I giggled at the thought of Germany being international and sighed at the lack of knowledge.

I looked on the Vodafone website, there are no roaming charges in Europe for a UK phone dialling into the correct voicemail number.

I have had "warning messages" from Vodafone and GiffGaff and I previously wrote about it on CUK.

At one time I received massages about the introduction of EU roaming charges at the end of 2019.

I received another lot of messages in 2020 saying that under the T&Cs they reserve the right to withdraw free roaming if your EU calls are greater in number of you UK calls. In other words, roaming should be occasionally and not for long periods.

Either way it is a scam because Vodafone have their own networks in most EU countries, it is not actual roaming when on the same network.

Saw a similar one the other day n all, thought nothing of it. I have to use a UK number for certain businesses / clients who cannot accept a EU number. If they think I'm paying that they can go and whistle.

So much for Vodafone saying they'll not increase prices.
Isn't 'roaming' for those people who are UK resident but travel out of the country for short periods? As you're not UK resident then it would seem logical that Vodafone charge you as a non-UK user.

As for you "certain businesses / clients", I thought your only work these days was gambling on stocks and that you haven't needed to do 'proper' work for over 2 years now? Are is this 'client' your broker calling to warn you that your FTSE 100 put is about to go pop and how would you like to pay your £250k invoice?

The amount of tulip in this one sentence is mind boggling.
You really have no idea what roaming is?

Roaming means is using another provider's network even if it is in the UK. For example in the early days, BT would not allow
Vodafone to use it's network when Vodafone was in a poor signal area, those days have disappeared. Various governments had raised the issue of why companies such as Vodafone and O2 charged roaming on the on networks.

Your comment is so full of tulip you better ask your mum to change you nappy.

Here it starts. A Vodafone apologist - heard it all now.

I continue to support clients I've worked over the years via retainers still running. I plan to let them expire when possible.
