London on verge of tier 3 as R rate jumps to 2.9 | Metro News
London could be on the verge of being placed under the harshest coronavirus lockdown restrictions after the R rate skyrocketed to as high as 2.9. The rate of infection in the capital is now thought to be the highest in the country. Figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care, compiled by Imperial College London and Ipsos Mori, indicate the virus continued to grow exponentially in the week to October 25. However, its prevalence remains lower than other ‘very high’ risk regions such as Manchester and Liverpool, City AM reports.Comment

This is just an underhand way of getting the whole country in lockdown rather than doing it all in one go. Regions will go from tier-1 then to tier-2 and finally tier-3 and eventually the whole country will be in lockdown. There will then be the mooted tier-4 but there is no plan of how to come out of lockdown...“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

But to be fair no other countries government has managed to get it right either so it's not ours that's incompetent... to a certain degree.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!Comment
