Late 90's Subaru Legacy estate. Great car, paid 750 quid for it 9 years ago.

Not quick by any standards (non-turbo) but fun to drive (uprated the suspension) and plenty of room to shift stuff in the back.

Proud to say I've never owned a post-2000 car (and never intend to!)

              OK, my most fun cars...

              The aforementioned Volvo T5R.

A Subaru Forester XTEn with a 260bhp WRX engine in it - 0.60 in well under 6 seconds...

A white Sierra GLSI: not that exciting per se but everyone on the motorway thought is was a police car so moved over remarkably quickly.

Many years ago, a ratty-looking Mk1 Cortina GT with many Lotus parts on it and an overbored 1650 motor: best Q car of all time.

A short spell with a mate's Morris Minor. That one had a 1500 Broadspeed full race motor in it, plus brakes and suspension to match. Scared the hell out of a lot of fast cars.

And one drive in a genuine 7 litre AC Cobra. Scared the hell out of me. Put it sideways three times getting out of the car park. Was not sorry to give it back!

              Happy days...

My most fun car was my Peugeot 309 GTi. Got rid of it because I moved to London and just wasn't using it. Have been looking around to see if I could re-buy one but they are like hens teeth - you can get a 205 GTi but rarely do the 309s come on the market.

Had a TR7 too which was great fun to drive, especially in the wet with the rear wheel drive My wife's Beetle was a cool car to drive back in the 90's too.

                  Good list.

I had a Sierra Estate years ago, again not quick but a great workhorse and surprisingly pleasant for long trips.

Still have a Mk1 Escort with 1660 xflow in it. Despite having a few quick Imprezas back in the day, the Escort has always had the biggest grin factor

Great thread, had to double check this wasn't Pistonheads

Once built a MK1 Escort and put a 3.0L V6 Essex in it. Didin't really change much on the outside apart from a set of RS wheels and it had subtle twin pipes (larger brakes and modified suspension naturally.) Now that was a Q car and great fun for traffic light drag racing against the unsuspecting

Also had a Ford Capri Comanche (MK1 Capri) which was built by Jeff Uren, he of Savage Cortina fame. You could bore out the cylinders to 90 which gave you the 3.1 version however he changed the length of the stroke which put it up to a 3.2 and 190BHP, which was a lot in those days.

The best Q car I had was my last car, Alpina BiTurbo. Looks very much from the outside as a normal 3 series but could that thing go
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
