Okay, will do. 90% figures released based on 84 people tested, an experimental vaccine type never used before (RNA based), that requires -80 deg storage in a special case that can only be opened for a few seconds at unknown cost.

Yay, cracking open the Vegan organic fizzy lentil juice on that one!

      That’s really elementary, Watson
They are being flooded with grants atm, I wouldn’t think that losing R&D budgets is a concern for them.

I would be concerned about false narative and wishful thinking. Maybe it is postive and truly hope so but I am also worried that someone is just trying to bank on this.

Or tire the population up, postive new, negative news, positive news negative news... until people start mentally blocking anything covid related and just don’t care. Then we start compaining that not everyone is pulling in the same direction...

I have some puts bought and sticking with them...

The only way they can make money if it works well, otherwise it’s risk to whole (big) company

I think you're naive if you think people will just accept this vaccine, even if it is free at the point of use (not confirmed yet). Those that have been out flouting the distancing rules, because their selfish attitude has determined the risk of them being adversely impacted by Covid is low, will not risk taking an largely unproven (from a safety point of view)* vaccine.

(*) Despite what people are told, there will be doubts over the veracity of safety claims.

Or they bought their own stock, released this wonder news, sold their stock, and made the money that way.

A vaccine administered en masse to healthcare workers and the vulnerable would change the public health significance of infections in low risk individuals.

With 90% efficiency we might need just 60%

Those under most risk (age, comorbidities) are going to be more likely to take it

And in some countries those who don’t take vaccine might find their job prospects go down

Small pox was eliminated with a vaccine. (If you were born after 1970 in the UK apparently you didn't get it.)

Polio would be eliminated if conspiracy theories weren't being spread to remote locations.

                    Conspiracy theories kill.

They (and people who spread them) should be treated accordingly.

How much money is in the Polio and measles vaccines?

That's what the likes of the Gates Foundation is for.
