    Boom: There is a cure

Covid-19 vaccine is more than 90% effective in preliminary results according to Pizer.

It uses a completely experimental approach - that involves injecting part of the virus's genetic code - in order to train the immune system.

However, there are logistical challenges as the vaccine has to be kept in ultra-cold storage at below minus 80C.
Wow, not really a practical vaccine is it?

Presumably you can take it out of the freezer to administer it.

Freezer (domestic/commercial) at -80 deg c does not exist.

Liquid nitrogen or at a push dry ice storage.

The data presented is not the final analysis. It is based on the first 94 volunteers to develop Covid - the precise effectiveness of the vaccine may change when the full results are analysed.
So based on 94 people. And needs to be stored at -80 deg c. And no indication of cost per dose.

If I were cynical person this sound like a pump and dump news release....timed to coincide with the US election result.

                They do though.

Take your pick. It's not as though liquid nitrogen storage facilities are unknown in the pharmaceutical world. Some of them are even portable - certainly down to -86°C.

A cure and a vaccine are not the same thing.

The disease continues to spread like wildfire, and a vaccine will do nothing to help those poor buggers already infected.

                    That's why I said domestic/commercial.

Specialist scientific freezers, of course. But makes it a bit more interesting delivering billions of doses to every person on the planet?
