Boris Johnson’s director of communications Lee Cain resigns amid Downing Street infighting | Evening Standard

Boris Johnson's communications director Lee Cain has dramatically resigned amid signs of a bitter power struggle in Downing Street.

In a statement, the former journalist said that after "careful consideration" he had decided to leave Number 10 at the end of the year.

The move comes less than 24 hours after it was reported that he was to be promoted to the key position of Prime Minister Mr Johnson’s chief of staff.

Mr Cain was a close ally of Dominic Cummings, Mr Johnson's chief adviser, having worked with him on the Brexit campaign.

After Mr Cain announced his resignation, speculation began circulating that Mr Cummings could follow him.

The unelected driving policy and running the country ..... didn't we vote to be rid of this?

Is Johnson actually the PM of the country? We have Cummings telling him what to do and attempting to get his own underlings into various SPAD positions yet along comes Johnson's unmarried other of his born out of wedlock child putting the kaboosh on it. Honestly, Eastenders is more believable...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

You need to adjust your mindset. People find Trump's behaviour unbelievable, because they forget the frame of reference that he has a personality disorder who ignores all political norms. Similarly, you need to remember that the UK is a failing state run by incompetents, voted in by cretins. Then it starts to make sense.

You've clearly missed W1A and 2012 - they are art on which life was later based. Apparently some things were removed from their scripts as being unrealistic....
