Boris Johnson readies Britain for a no-deal Brexit

"Prime Minister says Brussels wants to 'punish' Britain as EU accused of threatening blockade

Boris Johnson has put the country on notice for a no-deal Brexit after telling his Cabinet that Brussels wants to “punish” Britain for refusing to be yoked to EU rules.

The Prime Minister said the EU wants to treat the UK as a “twin” that must copy whatever it does in future, which is “clearly not the sensible way to proceed”.

He said he would “go the extra mile” and was ready to fly to Paris, Berlin or Brussels if there was any prospect that he could “get this home and get a deal”."

Mods - I think the topic too important to be confined to the usual trash in the Brexit subforum, so let's keep this one here...

    Brexit is irrelevant.

What we should be discussing is the climate crisis that will destroy the planet very soon.

Greta Thunberg: 'We are speeding in the wrong direction' on climate crisis | Environment | The Guardian

Thunberg said recent pledges by the UK – to cut carbon emissions by 68% by 2030 compared with 1990 levels – and by China, Japan and South Korea to become net carbon zero were creating a sense of progress, and she added: “That is a very dangerous narrative because of course we’re not going in the right direction. We need to call this out.”

The distance to a deal with EU is about as far as Australia, that's for sure...

Corbyn tried to stop a no deal crash out. He was routed at the elections for that stance. This clearly means the country want nothing but a hard brexit. Who this benefits, will be clear in the months and years ahead. I can definitely predict one thing for sure, it won’t be the voters who voted Johnson in.
Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !

Didn't Johnson say we would prosper under no-deal, so what's the fooking problem?

Leave without a deal. Live long and prosper. Sorted.

He said the UK would prosper mightily just for leaving the EU.
