    Covid Vaccine fiasco

As expected, it's going to be a big f-up. Health minister on the radio says his aim is give and many people as possible one shot of the Oxford vaccine (rather than the two as required). Meanwhile, there are no reliable figures as to how many people have received the Pfizer vaccine, the tory press say 1m, BBC 600,000 although only 500,000 vials have been distributed. The rest of Europe will overtake the UK.

We've done a deal somewhere to get the vaccine faster from pfizer.

My wife is vaccinated, I'm very positive. I live in country that gets this done first. I love the uk.

The expectation is that the UK will be vaccinated faster than every other country.

And when that happens you won't be posting threads about it.

Re Pfizer, didn't the UK only get 800k doses and that's it for now?

Who gives a feck if it's a week before other countries, it needs to be a quick and effective mass roll out, otherwise with this new super fast spreading variant, you'll run out of people to vaccinate.

We are weeks ahead of the Europeans. And Americans.

There is cleary British level shiftiness going on.

              It isn't a feck up.

One shot gives a level of immunity that will decrease the number of hospitalisations. This means as many people as possible will get one shot.

It is presumed that manufacturing will continue so people will be able to get their 2nd shot within 3 months.

                It’s a reasonable approach.
