And PHE is an Executive Agency sponsored by the DoH. That means they are autonomous. They were tasked annually by the SoS for Health to "improve the nation's health and promote equality". That's it. It's patently clear they've failed to do either. Even the idiot Hancock realised that, hence their dissolution.
The new group have a closer remit, to improve health outcomes and reduce diseases. With many of the same incompetents in charge, 'm not hopeful they will fare any better.
