I can see a massive GOP split, with Donny taking half the base with him to form a new "Trump" party, but all it will be is rallies over the US, but nothing else.

Impeachment doesn't stop one for running for office, that was fake news spread on twitter. A separate vote in the Congress is needed for that

The Senate, not Congress, but that would be the whole point - for the Senate to then vote with 2/3rds majority and then choose the additional penalty, which may involve a ban on holding the office in future. Except that they won't get a 2/3rds majority in the Senate, so it's either a waste of time or contrary to their interests.
