The stuff on the BBC programme Hospital showing the system getting near collapse last spring was embarrassing to the government, and as things are even worse this time around, they don't want anybody to see.

See Mirror journalist Susie Boniface's tweet https://twitter.com/fleetstreetfox/s...28915182202886 "For those wondering why journalists aren’t showing you what’s happening in hospitals - we can’t break in, and the ministers refuse access. An individual overriding that would lose their job, a trust would lose funding." in response to Dr. Rachel Clarke's thread starting at https://twitter.com/doctor_oxford/st...86319536803840 which states that "7. Senior clinicians in multiple hospitals tell me they are desperate to show the reality inside our ICUs, wards and EDs. They aren't allowed to. All comms have been centralised. 8. I know this to be true at a Trust level too. CEOs who *want* to show the truth and can't."

This government doesn't really care if medical staff get abused by idiots who think the whole thing's a hoax, so they won't show us the things that would prove it isn't. It might lose them votes or, even worse, make the editor of the Daily Mail say nasty things about them
    Looks like they've cracked: https://twitter.com/lewis_goodall/st...31012669607939
