Apparently hospitals, NHS Trusts and so on are under direct orders from ministers not to allow media in at all. The stuff on the BBC programme Hospital showing the system getting near collapse last spring was embarrassing to the government, and as things are even worse this time around, they don't want anybody to see.

This government doesn't really care if medical staff get abused by idiots who think the whole thing's a hoax, so they won't show us the things that would prove it isn't. It might lose them votes or, even worse, make the editor of the Daily Mail say nasty things about them
