The operative word in that sentence: 'was'...

Funny, I thought it was "billionaire"...

Also, how do they know who was the father?

Knowing who isn't I can understand but...

Well unfortunately for his own daughter he wants nothing to do with her.

            Can’t they just be friends?

I wonder how many lawyers have been in touch to advise her of her legal rights to his assets.

Surely it's a breach of something or other to reveal a genetic match that way, unless the billionaire ticked a box (or didn't tick a box) that allowed his identity to be shared with potential genetic matches

The mum was shook? Surely she’d have noticed the conception....

That's the big problem... the billionaire doesn't have to ticket a box. As long as someone closely related to him did then it will show you are a close relative of whoever that relative is and you can draw your conclusion from that. It's all quite sick and shouldn't be legal.

A distant family member of mine is adopted (early 60s) and was able to figure out who their biological family was through one of those sites even though they never consented to supplying that information. Just was able to figure it out through a match with their relatives and then a short conversation with one of the person they matched with on facebook.
