DDOM: British people - biggest piss artists

English and Scottish get drunk most often, 25-nation survey finds | Alcohol | The Guardian

The English and Scottish have topped an international league table of how often people get so drunk that they lose their balance and slur their speech.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

This used to irritate me until I heard that Tacitus complained about exactly the same thing with British Roman soldiers (I think that carousing and singing was involved as well, if I remember correctly).

So I gave up being irritated.

      It's who we are.

Having once had a vodka drinking contest with a Russian and two Polish guys & failing miserably, I can confirm this is fake news

Shame you didn't follow the traditional of sleeping outside after you had that contest...

Ditto a beer drinking contest with a group of Germans at the end of a Le Mans 24 hour bike race.

They had de-camped and rode off on their bikes before we had stirred from our sleeping bags.

My comment was Brits getting drunk, not Brits holding their liquor better than other nations...

Cheer up I had a similar contest with the Dutch and Americans at a conference.

Two of the three of us were up for the first session at 9am. Pity the American who was supposed to be presenting didn't get up until 2pm.

Pieter & I had sent the American to bed early has he had an early start.

I was a little more worse for wear than Pieter in the morning.
