    Christmas menu

Anyone thought about the Christmas menu yet? Am not going to do Turkey this year, thinking about duck or goose. Can go for the Peking duck with all the trimming, but wondering if I should do Duck La orange … Would love to here everyone’s perfect Xmas recipes?

btw: Eid is going to be a bit earlier than Xmas (20-23) so will sort out that menu as well - baking Eid cookies with a friend

Chicken for Christmas Day, as my father-in-law doesn't like turkey. No Christmas pudding unless I take my own, as they don't like that either.

Boxing day - turkey with all the trimmings, as I'll be at my parents. Christmas pud, Christmas cake, mince pies, roaring fire...

Can't wait - three weeks more work to get through before that though.

For desert, I cooked pumpkin pie a few weeks ago (but used butternut squash instead of pumpkin, cuz it taste better ) anyway, I may try to make a special cheese cake recipe I’ve seen recently… and perhaps the trifle (from scratch with fresh fruits obviously) ..hmm not sure yet !! Or may be just have egg nogg all day on Xmas, forget about the food.

A pantomime on Christmas Eve, home with the outlaws on Christmas Day, then off to Nottingham...

                Xmas Day

I was thinking of either Partridge or Wood Pigeon for starters
then Goose or Guinea Fowl for main

I'm edging towards the partridge & guinea fowl stuffed and wrapped in bacon i think. Not quite sure yet

Chef - interesting, in my family its been a tradition that Xmas Eve is stricktly seafood, no meat. Then Xmas day is the meaty day - usually Turkey, but not gona do the Turkey this year....

partridge & guinea fowl sounds interesting, only its a bit risky don't you think? meat may be quite tough, and too little of it?

oh - please share your salmon recipe, I find the most popular with the family is when I coat the salmon fillets with roughly ground almond, and cook in white sauce.

Timpted to have other recipes, perhaps the Thai one someone posted here a few days ago
