I build the occasional bit of electronic kit, midi controllers etc. I can buy 250 components for the price of 25 from Maplin and that says it all.

      What's HDMI?

        Maplin are real rip-off merchants.

Only ever buy from them if the item is hard to find and/or you need it ASAP.

I've used TV Cables in the past and found them competitive.

Yes. You are missing an opportunity - first thing tomorrow get on the phone to Maplin and offer to supply cables at cheap price of £10 (you will buy them from Ebuyer), they will therefore will be quids in by reselling same cables at 500% markup.

I went to the local Maplin store to buy an ADSL filter the other day. They were £1 something off the likes of e-buyer, and £8 from the shop.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Anyone else had ADSL filters die on them? I have had 2 go completely dead ... can't work out why a solid state bit of kit should have a life expectancy - both supplied by BT and last just over the year!

Mine came from Demon and died after a few weeks. I put it down to silent, invisible lightning occurring twice on different days (it was either that or the little goblins coming back and I promised I wouldn't see them again).
