Getting a new car covered with Swiftcover

    Is anything but swift.

Problem is that I am buying an imported car. This is fine with Swiftcover as it is UK spec.

What is not fine is that it is not currently UK registered.

Despite intention to register, and needing a cover note to get it UK registered, they say they cannot issue a cover note.

This gives me a problem as I need to get a cover note to the garage to cover the car so we can get it registered!

Anyone got any ideas of a good way to progress forward?

Are there any insurance companies that will provide such cover?

If I leave Swiftcover I get virtually no money back (£74 from a £300 policy).

Only other option is for the garage name to appear on the log book. Not willing to accept another name on the log book.

Phone another insurance company like Prudential and buy insurance for your new car. Supply the garage the cover note so that the car can be registered and then cancel the new insurance within 30 days and claim back all the money.

Now insure your UK registered car with swiftcover.

Surely there is a specialist insurance company who would provide cover for a small amount of time - people import cars all the time so there has to be a way around this.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

Why are you buying an imported UK spec car? It made sense several years ago but not now
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

                  Makes perfect financial sense.

                  Dealer price £17,500

                  Import new price £11,800.

The Focus is also built overseas in Germany. Hence Germany to Malta to Blighty.
