The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

      That's because you're awfully polite.

Much more of a bike race fan. A lot more accessible (even at GP and World Supers level).
Not for everyone I know, and it has been a bit too predictable itself lately, but still by far the best "racing" you will ever see. Go interactive on the beeb and watch the 125 and 250 races its like watching a bunch of mad axemen.
I still remember watching World superbikes at Assen and seeing the lead change 6 times in one corner. Mazin.
I have attended Rally GB since it was the Lombard (my mates Dad worked at the Grizedale Hotel where the cars had service), and go to BTCC whenever I can (Oulton Park is my nearest venue). I have also been to British Superbikes and the TT.

Baggy is right. Hamilton is a tw@t.

I suspect a great many people love themselves, most with less grounds than him. I agree that many are perhaps jumping the gun with regards to his ability but that is hardly his fault. He does seem to have a lot of potential, so perhaps he might be given a bit longer before any such harsh judgments are made, non?

As you said about Murray, he is still young and stupid, yet to mature. Maybe a little less nurse maiding might help him. He has been h=nurtured for a hell of a long time.

Well we do have a tendency to rush to put some of our promising young talent onto pedestals, then take a morbid delight in pushing them off again. I say we get them on the pedestals and wait for them to fall off rather than being so keen to drag them down. Most won't disappoint but we might just end up with a few more success stories than we currently have.

well you can see why none of them want to live in the UK. (in addition to the tax savings!)

I think Hamilton has shown he deserves his pedestal. He almost won the title in his rookie year and that is no mean feat. He has every right to be smug and arrogant about it. I just get the impression that he doesnt (yet) appreciate what he has got both in talent and in fortune. Because of that his attitude is offensive.
