    Hurrah for civil liberties

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7487475.stm

Aren't you all glad we live in this 'enlightened' society which so vigorously protects the right of the individual? Who cares about the mob, let them hang.

"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

On them! On them! They fail!

They're going to follow him in the hope that he leads them to Bin Laden.

Well he's already done seven years in a high security jail waiting to be deported, and from the sound of it his bail conditions are pretty strict. Given that there's no sign he's ever been charged, tried or convicted of anything seven years seems like a pretty long stretch. You'd have though they could have come up with something in the meantime.

Absolutely. They seem to "discover" somewhat illegal pictures on every PC they seize these days...

Yes - long may it continue - it means there has to be some stuff called evidence before the police and government can lock up people they don't like the look of. If you want mob rule, I suggest you might be better going to live somewhere where their approach to human rights and civil liberties suits you better - how about Iran or China?

lock you up for more than seven years without convicting you of anything.
