Very few politicians will state that they will raise taxes in an election campaign. Blair said in 1997 'we have no plans to raise taxes'. At the time I remember thinking 'what a liar !!'.

I've never really got this whole left wing media tag, especially in the US. It's as if there is no such thing as right wing media - only fair and balanced (Rooting for our boy) and those horrible, completely biased and clearly insane left wing commies.

I think you're being slightly naive, and blinkered if you think McCain is any different or superior than Obama when it comes to propaganda, or policies etc.

However, on the general point, you're right, they all lie, Bush Senior famously got elected on his "read my lips" promise, then put up taxes. Last time I looked, he wasn't a socialist either.

I don't trust Obama one bit, he's a man built on deceit and lies and you just have to look at his pledge to take state funding as an example of the character of the man. Google on how he won the Illinois state senate seat to see his tactics (note: you won't find it on his Wiki page, it's self-edited).
