Why can the baby and mother not be identified ?

My thoughts.

I have an eight week old son - even when he's frustrating me to hell with crying (like at 12am last night just as I decided to go to bed) I cannot imagine hurting him.

The government are trying to bury this at the moment, hopefully the public won't let them.

The person that raised concerns in 2007 has had an injunction taken against her to prevent her speaking about it.

Same here, I hope the scum who did this get beaten to death inside. I have 2yr old and can't read the story without wincing.

Keep wanting to find all the kids that are treated like this and take them in myself. Their parents don't deserve to have them.

The worst thing is that there'll be others (probably dozens) undergoing the same thing. How the council legally gagged the employee is beyond my understanding.

I’ve always found this sort of thing shocking but it never really upset me until I had a child of my own, it changes your outlook on life in a way that I never thought it would.

My little girl has had us up every night for weeks with teething pain and I get upset when I see how distressed she gets, the thought of someone deliberately hurting a defenceless baby really is beyond comprehension.

It seems that my understanding of how children end up in care is completely wrong. I really hope this one of a few isolated cases, I mean there could be thousands of kids being seriously abused if this the level of attention social services are paying.

Thing is, I don't get much gratification about someone else getting a kicking. I know they deserve it, but I end up feeling guilty about baying for their blood. Makes me as bad as them really.

as a hand-wringing liberal i'm anti death penalty, but i hope the cnuts who got sent down for this meet an untimely, bloody and brutal death at the hands of 10 or so of their fellow inmates A.S.A.P.

I, too, don't get any pleasure from it; mainly because the git knows why he's getting a kicking; can yell for help and will get it; will be now kept safely away form the perpetrator, etc. No such luck for the kid.
