    General Q. about negotiating rates

    Hi,

I have applied for a 3 month contract paying between £100 and £160 per day.

    I wouldn't entertain £100 and I would rather not entertain £160.

Have any of you managed to get more than whats on offer?

I am going to try for £200 per day, just wondering if anyone else has been successful.

    Thanks

    Seabro

Now, I'd bet a crisp fiver that you're another of MF's sockies.

I would update my CV and look for a permie-role for that rate

you see, I asked for the umbrella question to be moved to the umbrella section, as you get advice there.. in general you will get advice.. but not the sort you will be looking for.

What field are you in? The rate looks low for a typical IT contractor.

Go in at £400 and be prepared to meet them half way.
