Default World of Warcraft is as addictive as cocaine

'World of Warcraft is as addictive as cocaine': report here

The computer game World of Warcraft is the most dangerous game on the market with a high risk of addiction, according to a new report from a Swedish youth organisation.

The Youth Care Foundation, which works to advocate active alternatives to gaming, described the game as "the cocaine of the computer games world".

The foundation's report is as yet unpublished and is based on the experiences of gamers and their parents who have been in contact with the group.

"There is not a single case of game addiction that we have worked with in which World of Warcraft has not played a part," according to Sven Rollenhagen at the foundation to the newspaper Metro.

    Another stunningly biased report.

'World of Warcraft is as addictive to some people as cocaine':
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

    What is World of Warcraft?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I have no idea. Don't really give a toss either.

    Seriously ?

Even if you don't play, and couldn't give a baboon's bottom, surely anybody in the IT industry must have heard of World of Warcraft ?

Even my gran has heard of it, and she's been dead for 20 years.

    Fair enough Baggie.

However, since it's been mentioned several times in The Times, and various broadsheets, I thought a man of your calibre might have come across it.

Ok I know it's a computer game, that's about it.
