Speeding biker gets 6 months in prison

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/7918212.stm

Now it was a dumb thing to do, no doubt, but I find it hard to accept 6 months in prison for speeding when violent offenders are who seriously maim or kill people are getting a lesser custodial sentences.

Harsh or fair considering violent muggers/burglars/robbers get far less?

Can we presume it was not a judge or a lord riding the bike then?

No, the guy was not a "Muslim pillar of the community" or a peer.

Silly arse. If he'd had the sense to do it in an uninsured car and drive into a family at a bus stop and kill them all, he'd only have got six weeks.

Unless that family contained a lord.

Has a lord even been seen at a bus stop?

I know quiet a lot of bikers and doing a ton plus is normal behaviour. Very harsg!
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

You think it's harsh to imprison a man who endangers his 14 year old son's life by driving at 122mph in the rain?

I think he was lucky to get away with 6 months.

I don't think he should endanger his son, but 6 months is OTT IMHO.
