    Expenses

    Hi,
are there guidelines in the Uk for an amount of money per day you should receive for Food/drink when working abroad? Is it dependent on which country you are working in?

    Any help is appeciated.

    Thanks

    It's what you spend.

    ...more Dom Perignon anyone?

best advice is to claim what you spend.....
in addition there's a £10 allowance for overnight incidentals, but you didn't ask that question

We get £30 a day for food etc. but we work in the Middle East a lot and £30 won't cover 3 meals a day.

Er what are you talking about?
          who gives u £30 a day?
U have a Ltd (or umbrella)..u do stuff..u invoice agency (this will include expenses incurred and approved by end client).

If they will only approve £30 and it's not enough talk to end client

In all my years of contracting I have never claimed for lunch. To me you need to eat regardless of where you are. Generally, I would take a packed lunch anyway.
