Thumbs down What a mess !!!

Public sector borrowing for the past two months just announced on BBC news is 30 Billion pounds.

This is just incredible and shows the mess that Labour have got us in.

Extrapolate that for the next two years and that is a debt of 360 Billion pounds. Add interest payable and also the fact that the situation could well get worse as Labour deny spending cuts and it could well run into over 500 Billion over those two years.

To further put this into perspective, remember that the Tories were panned for economic incompetence in 1992 when Britain dropped out of the ERM at a cost of 7 Billion pounds which at the time was deemed exhorbitant. My, how that seems such a pittance after so many years of economic mismanagement under the current incumbents.

Can't we put a windfall tax on the banks, for getting us (and various other countries in the world) into this mess?

The really sad thing is that this money is for day-to-day running of the country and nothing to do with bank bail-outs.

There is already a windfall tax on the banks by virtue of HMG owning a percentage of most of them and of course the theft of Northern Rock that basically robbed all Rock shareholders of all of their holdings.

I think that it's working the other way around at the moment.
The banks have put a windfall tax on us!

It is shocking though what a mess this government has made. Admittedly you could argue that they did not create this mess in the first place but how on earth can you bring a country though ten years or so of good growth without anything left in the piggy bank?

Labour are acting just the same as the last time they were in. Sooner or later they just seem to run out of money.

The situation of overspending has been built up over many years, and that is definitely down to the government. In boom times funds should be held back and not frittered away on non-jobs and other wasteful public spending.

The more I think about this the more worried I get. We are losing effectively 500 million pounds a day due to overspending..... 500,000,000 pounds a day !!

It makes you think doesn't it.

And the evil Snot Goblin says he will continue to increase spending in real terms.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
