    Self insure and be careful. That's the cheapest way. Can't see how the IT stuff worth a day or twos day rate is worth insuring. Money down the drain to me.

    The stuff on a lap top is valuable, but that is easy to back up and restore.

      Another point here. Unless you have a spare system to use until you find a replacement for the nicked/dropped/lost kit, you could end up losing billable time.
      Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.
