    Nitrogen tyres

    Is this worth it?

Only a quid a tyre at Kwik Fit.

Needing a new set of fronts (get through 3 sets a year due to the mileage), so will test out the claims of increasing tread wear by 25% and better handling.

£1 per tire and an increase in tire wear?
Doesn't really sound like its worth it

Given that air is 78% nitrogen... I can't really see the point

If you drive an F1 car, a digger or an aeroplane then probably yes.

Seeing as you drive a nearly-new Ford Focus (albeit raggedly seeing as you need new tyres within 18 months of having it) then no, it's not worth it.

Have them filled with helium to make the car lighter.

So there you go, but... F1 cars use it so all BMW drivers will be down Kwik-Fit kwik smart.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Hydrogen, to make the car more likely to explode (with him in it)...

Why do you need better handling? The Focus is fairly decent and from the sound of it, you need to reduce tyre wear.

What happens when you need to keep the tyres up to pressure (every week or two if you drive that much)?

A better investment would be new specs so you see the kerb when parking.

And the rumble strip is meant for avoiding, not driving along.

And those pretty pairs of lights in the road? You're supposed to drive between the cat's eyes, not over them.

And finally, invest in locking wheel nuts. You might have a neighbour selling your part-used tyres in exchange for worn out ones...

I fill my tyres with a 78% nitrogen mixture. Seems to work pretty well.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
