Anyone here with a guilty conscience?

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...to-police.html

A customer had a guilty conscience after walking out of the Indian restaurant without paying in 1996.

He sent police an unsigned apology along with £60 in cash to be passed on to the Seaview Palace Tandoori in Swansea, South Wales.
Did minestrone pay after finding his wallet intact?

I don't know how but it has worked for a long time now. Maybe the swear filter agrees with me?

I feel as guilty as heck.
The cleaner here was just telling me about her bloke being redundant etc and I mentioned that porn star birdy from yesterday.
She perks up and say 'well everyone has their price'

now I feel sooooo bad. I wasn't trying to proposition her, just having a gab.

no, no, why? why are you asking? I didnt do it and you can't prove anything, who have you been talking to? he asked me to do it, he didn't explain properly and so i guessed, how was I to know he meant that? plus, he didn't seem upset, well not at first and anyway it's normal in some places.. why, what have you heard?

Ten years ago I would have said "Yes" and recounted some naughtiness from when I was an impressionable teenager. Also, how I tried to rectify it 15 years later but was too late.

But since the filth spend their time eating cakes and searching Facebook and YouTube for criminal behaviour instead of getting off their fat arses and walking the streets and preventing crime, I don't think I would be so unwise as to make an online confession, albeit 30 years after the event.

Edit: and the non-paying customer was right to send "an unsigned apology" or they would have had him.

And as for "police spent five months tracking down the former owner Samsul Bari" that's ridiculous. He's running a business. He has a liquor licence, FFS. How feckin hard must it be to find someone who has moved their business 40 miles. Didn't it occur to them to ask the Business Rates dept of the council? The neighbouring businesses? The nearest Indian Cash 'n' Carry? Or - the most obvious of the feckin lot - the local cab firm, FFS. Or put a story in the local paper. Useless, absolutely useless. Mind you, another month and they could have pocketed the money for themselves, so I'm surprised they didn't even manage to do that.

When I was a student 4 of us went out for a few scoops then ended the night at some cheap balti dive. Anyhow the place was heaving and we were pi$$ed so we just got up and walked out. We were walking down the street when two punkah wallahs came tanking down after us. We told them that we thought that the other had paid etc and then paid him his £. The food was sh!t too.

Couldn't say I would feel guilty about it tho!
