        No and No.

Spaceballs was crap, Airplane 2 doesn't count as SciFi or Fantasy, and was crap.

I like the newer ones with Patrick Stewart... the war criminal just didn't do it for me

The new new Star Trek is the only one I've ever enjoyed.

I surprise hit in the Jedi household, even the wife liked it.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I loved the new one - saw it at the IMAX, it was brilliant.

Feel free to include Fantasy "swords and sorcery" too

                    I'm genuinely looking for recommendations
Let's take the "Star Wars", "Star Trek" and "Alien" sagas as givens!

Off the top of my head, here's some of my faves, which don't tire after several viewings

                    - Starship Troopers (I can watch it again and again!)
                    - Dark Star
                    - Contact (Jodie Foster)
                    - Bladerunner
                    - The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951 version)

                    Aliens. Next.

I wrote a program so I could watch these movies on my laptop, back when they came on a pair of CDs.

Used to watch them on the train down to the city.

Made a nice little earner that one did.
