Thats why you can't see it

Glad to see that went right over your head. AtW is right. You are a bit thick.

But who would vote them out - the smart part about a rainbow alliance is that it drags everyone into the pit, so that none of them will be prepared to press the red button, because they know they will get slaughtered at the election for having put their own party interests first.

I am not convinced that that applies to all of them.

Even the SDLP and Plaid Cymru?

Add in that sometimes MPs die or they are ill and cannot attend the House, every vote would be on a knife-edge.

EDIT: and don't forget those that are retiring at the next election that don't give a tulip, along with those that just like being difficult.

Well the SDLP take the Labour whip, so effectively they are Labour MP's

It's quite possible that the coalition may lose individual votes, but the key votes are motions of confidence. In those cases, all the coalition will fall into line because of one simple reason. The labour whips will go running round the coalition and say "If you force a general election, the Tories will get an overall majority, and then you will have zero influence. Better to keep propping us up, so you can flex your muscles every now and then - rather than bring us down and you end up with nothing".

Self preservation is a powerful motivator.

                      Why not Boris himself?

His "sausages" interview with Paxman the other day was sheer class and good entertainment - had most of the bbc production crew in the background laughing their heads off.
