Question for those with large amounts of cash in their companies

Has anyone here used Zopa to lend the money out?

Many small- to medium-sized businesses are already using lending at Zopa as a smart way of boosting their profits. And it makes all the sense in the world if you think about it.

Zopa offers businesses an alternative. Companies holding a consumer credit licence, which Zopa will advise on how to obtain, can now lend as much money as they wish at Zopa. Average returns over the last year have been 7.88% on the money lent out by Zopa lenders – a significant premium to typical business banking overnight and short-term treasury rates.

If Zopa was so sure in their interest rates paid, then they'd issue bonds or something.

I remember a discussion last week on hpc about zopa.

summary seems to be to drip the money in so you ensure you don't panic and accept crap rates.

I'm going to give it a try with a small amount. Say a couple of hundred thousand or so and see how I get on.

If it works out, I'm thinking of setting up business as a loan shark.

What I was saying there is there's no point when the sums involved are low. All the hassle for a few quid a year.
