Am I the only person never to have used eBay apart from the odd casual perusal?

The lady who does the cleaning here is an ebay fanatic. she loves it, its her main hobby.
So we have a deal, I bring swag in, she ebays it and give me half the loot.
So far she has disposed of hundreds of games, kettle, coffee maker, pc's
it all would have gone in the skip

Used it probably about a dozen times, only buying though.
Can sometimes be useful for stuff that's no longer available in the shops although I doubt I've ever spent more than £20 on any one item from there.
I've got some old sports memorabilia from the 70/80s that I might put on there when I can be arsed.Comment

You drop off tat to a shop and they try and sell it on ebay. You get 1/2 the money and no hassles.Comment

So if I were to buy, say a GPS, on eBay, what do you have to do and watch out for?
Is it even worth placing a bid more than 2 seconds before the bidding time expires? And is "no returns accepted" a reason for concern? I'm already aware of the postage scam.Comment

A friend of mine breaks down motorbikes and sells them in bits. He does all the selling via eBay.
Makes a decent enough living (albeit far from contractor-type money).Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion.Comment
