The latest Benched Poll (Microsoft Developers)

Please respond to this poll if you are in one of these areas:
SQL/BI (Including DW and SSIS, SSRS. SSAS)
    .NET (C# or VB)

The reason I specify is that often we get reports of the market which are too general and often the particular area you work in is different (could be better or worse). Might be worthwhile opening other threads for other specialities.

Maybe we should have a poll on the best ever AndyW poll option.

I am a C# .NET developer and have never been benched more than 2 weeks while actively looking. (I took 2 months out last year). Been contracting since 2007, so through the worst financial crisis since 1929.

You must be good then? I am yet to be benched, but looks like I will be mid-january. I doubt I will be able to find anything end of december - start of jan but you never know.

I'm SQL BI developer, I've never had a real problem getting new contract. A couple of times it took longer than expected, once due to it being Dec/Jan and the other just down to a bad selection of prospective clients.

Well I have a good list of clients and a good CV. I might be benched start of Decc if I don't get extended or another contract doesn't materialise. Not the best time so I might be out till Jan.
