        Only 3" of snow here but the river is freezing in earnest this time round. Got a thick branch and tried our hardest to poke through the ice, couldn't even crack it. Got one foot fairly heavily on before I chickened out, if it stays freezing I reckon by New Year we'll be walking on it.
