Economic Outlook: Cut tax to make UK a magnet for the world

    Blooming good article

    http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/...icle656674.ece

When growth in Britain is subdued, as it is, there are two ways to make it stronger. One is to export a lot more, tapping into stronger growth elsewhere, particularly the rapid expansion in emerging economies. The other is to try to pinch growth from other countries, by bringing more of it here. Britain, in other words, needs to attract more economic activity and investment from overseas. That, on the face of it, is an impossible task. The British economy is labouring under a post-crisis hangover and adjusting to a new world of constrained credit and a sustained squeeze on the public sector.

If the UK cuts corporation tax for large companies they will end up having fights with the Germans and French like the Irish have.

As SAS and DA keep telling us, it's our own currency we can do what we like with it. Any time now. This time next year rodders.

Yes they can because they're not picking fights / starting wars that don't benefit them one iota.

They missed out all the hidden taxes in that diagram like council tax and VAT on food, transport and other goods it's nearly impossible to live without.

My mates in Switzerland have ranted about the price of meat. I know from recently buying flight tickets that while airlines here make up extra taxes, in Norway they actually do have a 9% tax on plane tickets.

The top rate of tax isn't representative. What are the lower rates?

TRT is representative when you want to keep talent in the country, especially service based niche economies. The country is slowly turning into a over taxed gelatinous brain dead orb.
