    Winter Sun

Want to squeeze a cheeky week away just before Christmas. Want sun, don't want long haul, don't want Dubai, any ideas?

yeah Tenerife but not the horrid tourist bit, stay in the main town Puerto de la Cruz. Fantastic, cool black beaches and big waves.

Are there any secluded foresty bits nearby where one might hang a hammock of a night? The big hills a couple of kilometres from that town look like they involve a steep climb and sometimes good kipping opportunities look better from the ground (versus Google Earth).

I know it's the traditional description but it can be quite dangerous if taken literally.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Would that by any chance be Mount Teide, Spain's highest mountain?
