Just thought I'd say that I'm now 5 kg away from my target.

How are the rest of you fatties getting on?

Unless you folk are particularly overweight it's best to avoid weighing yourself.

It's possible to become extremely fit and put on weight. Instead use a measuring tape around your waist and also belly if you have one. Neck and thighs are also an option, although be wary if you're into running or/and cycling as you will absolutely gain a lot of muscle in this area.

Have never owned scales and never intend to. Your weight fluctuates throughout the year regardless.

Avoid fad diets. Low carb means high protein and, potentially, high fat. These put an enormous strain on the liver and kidneys and are a fad. Avoid processed carbs, basically anything white: white rice, white bread, couscous. Bake your own wholemeal bread, drink only water with meals and eat slowly. If you socialise and eat your meals with family/friends you'll also eat slower and enjoy the experience more.

The health industry is just that, an industry. Avoid processed foods and that includes anything packaged to disguise itself as healthy but laden with sugar, 'natural ingredients' and the rest. Nature valley bars are an example of junk food that people seem to think is good to eat for breakfast. Cook your own flapjacks using whole oats and a few mashed bananas and your tastebuds will soon repel what is ultimately tasteless packaged junk with processing agents to disguise the poor taste of the ingredients and the processing of the core ingredients in order to churn it out cheaply.
