    Belgium.

The Netherlands will want to know about it, but they won't tax it.

You will be a "border crosser".

You need to register a branch of your UK Ltd in Belgium, because you're doing business there. You probably need to sort something out with a Belgian accountant.

All taxes paid in Belgium then. Thought that might be the case. Is €500 a day good in Belgium?

Liveable, but Brussels and Antwerp aren't cheap; go for 600. Would be adequate in other cities.

    Thanks BB.

Which country would be better for family to live given the choice? Liege, Belgium or Aachen or Germany or Maastricht, Netherlands?

Just do it with a Dutch 'eenmanszaak' (sole proprietor) or BV, depending on your profit; BV's interesting if you're expecting more than about 100000 euros profit. Dutch sole proprietorship is actually OK seeing as so many things can be written off as business expenses, like meals out near clientco and hotel costs that it's easy to avoid making too much taxable profit.

Though beware if you have a BV of the costs involved in setting it up EUR2.5k, as of this year you may not need the EUR18k working capital to kick start your company (not sure when that ruling kicks in).
