    Good Samaritan

Not very often I get involved but today I made an exception.

Went to get my haircut at lunchtime in one of those unisex salons.

There were a couple of people waiting and several already in the chair.

Among these was a little Indian boy bawling his eyes out.

His bemused parents couldn't stop him from crying, the girl with the scissors offered him a sweet but that didn't work and eventually, the woman who I took to be the owner, said enough is enough. She was concerned that it was annoying her punters.

    Cue Pacha to the rescue.

In the corner of the shop was a potted ornamental fig. Quite a big tree; about 8 feet in height.

I grabbed it and pulled it across the floor to where the little boy was sat such that he was under the tree and he immediately stopped crying.

What a result! I even got a 1 pound discount. You see, it pays to be a good citizen.

    How strange.

Please explain why you decided that humping a tree across a hairdressers floor might stop a child crying.
I am not doubting that it did - but what made you do it?

Largely irrelevant since it's a fictional character.

Well not exactly what I was thinking but I guess it would qualify.

                The tree?

                The little indian boy?

                These questions should be answered!

Personally I prefer to be a good citizen on principal. But each to their own.
