Just had a call about a four monther in Oman and should get confirmation very soon.
Who's been there and what's it like?
My brother lives there, I've been a few times to visit. It gets VERY hot in summer, traditional architecture rather than great glass Dubai style skyscrapers. Wadi bashing in 4x4's is great fun, far less toursty country than it's neighbours.
I've been there on holiday. People are probably the nicest you will find in the gulf and weather from April - September is way too hot - I have not experienced heat anywhere else like I have in the capital of Oman and that was early May. Dubai at the peak of summer was more bearable.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
