I filled up the tank with super unleaded. Sacrifices must be made. When the govt tells you to panic you know it's serious.
Why don't you use one of the swimming pools?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

          Brilliant idea!

And I can gloat over it whilst having a smoke later.

The giovernment really haven't thought this through. They tell everybody to fill up, and even to stockpile fuel. All the petrol stations run dry and have to be replenished. This means the tanker drivers make loads of money from working overtime, and can therefore afford to strike for a good long time

They did not expect people to trust the Government's advice.

Hello? The tanker drivers haven't stopped work - at this rate they don't need to.

Indeed. And if they were going to strike they'd have to give seven days notice before doing so, which would leave everybody plenty of time to fill up. In other words, the government was either talking rubbish or just trying to stir things up.

It can be very hard to tell the difference between their incompetence and their malice. The NHS reforms are the same.
