Cheering because you think a victory has been won which will avoid killing many innocents sounds quite appropriate. It's a decision which actually means something for once.
Its amazing how a Christian could hold the belief that its acceptable to let women and children die at the arms of a dictator's army... Remind me, which innocents are you hoping to save?
These are often delivered via tank shell. Nobody denies that Syrian tanks are shelling - it's whether they're using conventional munitions or chemical. It's kind of hard to prove one way or the other. Even if you find the remains of a shell, proving whether it was fired from a tank or "manually" detonated is kind of hard to do.
Often ?????
Really ? delivered by tank shell ? thats the first time I ever heard that. I hope the Russians know
The T72 was binned by the Indian army because they had a problem with ammunition bursting in the barrell. Anyone who tried to fire chemicals through those things would be suicidal
chemicals are used from far far away, like 20 miles. and after checking which way the wind is blowing.
Tanks have a relatively short range, a couple of miles at most.

Are the UK and America the world police or something? This conflict has nothing to do with us and we should mind our own business.
Last time the UK intervened in the Middle East was 10 years ago, following America into Iraq like a poodle. Remember all the "evidence" we were presented with then? And what was the outcome of that campaign? Over 100,000 dead, a country's infrastructure destroyed and a new breed of terrorists carrying out attacks on the UK mainland because they are pissed that the UK got involved. And then there is the cost - we are now closing hospitals and cutting benefits to pay for this stupid war. What a waste.
The UK should forget about acting the big man by getting involved and wait for the UN to decide what to do. It's not the UK's place to sort out all the world's problems. Charity begins at home...

To be fair, very little evidence was presented, only assertions, hence the bar is being set rather higher this time.

Syria already has 100,000 dead and a lot of damage to infrastructure. And last time I checked the cuts were related primarily to the banking crisis, not the war in iraq, which wasn't actually that expensive (£20bn according to this) plus perhaps the same again for long term care for the wounded and withdrawal costs and so on.
Also worth noting that the French will not be voting, because no vote is needed for the president to approve military action.

We're heading for the back stage door in some style.
.
We'd have to fall a long way to reach the level of Germany's irrelevance on the world political stage.
How much of their short-term success is due to relying on others to pay for their security?
