    Solar panels

Has anyone had solar panels fitted in the last year?
Need to have six fitted and so far have a best quote of £4500 which I think is pricey?

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Yes, lots of people.

Does the government not offer a grant for such things?

When you say "need" to have fitted do you mean need or would like?

Getting them fitted just in time for winter eh?

There were also 577 hours of sunshine this summer, up 14 per cent on the usual 505 hours.

Need them to pass the SAP rating on the new house.

There are some companies who will fit them for free but keep the "feed-in" money for x-years. If you are only fitting them for the rating and are not too worried about the saving then it may be worth considering...

+1 although the panels may cause issues with any mortgage applications or sales down the line.

I'm sure its fine but if you search you can find some scare stories...

Have applied to them. They seem the only company left but I think the roof space would be too small.

Signed up with one of the 'quote' companies. Expecting loads of spam

                  Solar Panels

I had free solar panels fitted.

This Company will fit them free of charge plus they will pay you a bonus of £50.

They wouldn't give us free panels as they are only interested in easy jobs and we have a skylight
